HISTORY OF UTAH LEGACY BASKETBALL
UTAH LEGACY basketball began in 2017. Director Landen Cummings recruited the best player from every team in a sixth grade junior jazz division, and combined them to form the first Utah legacy team in March 2017. These players had goals and aspirations to make their respective high school basketball teams. The following season, Utah Legacy merged with an established youth sports club in northern Utah and played under their name as their southern division. One year later the Utah Legacy brand was reestablished and continued to grow.
Today Utah Legacy has become one of the largest and most successful youth basketball programs in the state. We have seen the majority of our ninth grade players make their high school basketball teams as freshman, and continue to make the teams as they make their way through high school. The goal of Utah Legacy is to create a competitive team with players that are willing to work hard in and out of practices and games, while learning the skills to continue their basketball careers into and beyond high school.
Aside from creating better athletes, Utah Legacy also strives to provide life lessons through basketball to prepare the players as they grow older and become a bigger part of today's society.
We know that you have a countless number of options for youth basketball in the state of Utah. We sincerely appreciate you taking the time to consider and or be a part of the Utah Legacy program and family.
